The Village market had a good summer with an average of over 600 visitors at each of the monthly markets. We were sure if the footfall would be lower due to holidays, but visitors have been fantastic. Thank you for everyone that’s been able to come and visit us. Hopefully those that haven’t found the time will come and visit. It’s a lovely atmosphere with friendly traders and volunteers, in a lovely setting of the playing fields. A great place to spend a few hours on a Saturday morning.
As a reminder it’s the last Saturday in the month, except for the special Christmas December market which is Saturday 14 December. All proceeds go to the repair and maintenance of the community centre and the market committee are all volunteers. We’re planning now to have a special Christmas themed market (14 December) and hope to have a Halloween theme for the October market.
A special work of thanks to the committee from the bookings and promotions team to the day event team responsible for setting the event up and safely managing the carparking and visitors. Without such dedication none of this would be possible.

A huge thank you to members of the public who took the time to come to the Community Association’s AGM and once again thank you to all committee members for such a positive year. All lead members were returned unanimously, and the financial accounts were welcomed and supported.
The Village Market Committee has seen some changes, with Katherine, Nicki and Lucy stating their intension to step down. Mary has kindly stepped in to pick up any slack and we continue to strive forward with firm plans to keep the Village Market going. If you’re reading this and perhaps could bring some market knowledge, experience, and skills to the team, please do contact me.
As I’ve mentioned many times before Hagley has a fantastic community spirit with plenty of groups helping with our everyday lives. Many of these are supported by local businesses, charities, churches and social prescribers and I wish to sincerely thank them for everything they are doing for us.
