The Arts Society Stourbridge was founded almost a quarter of a century ago. We are a member Society of The Arts Society – a leading arts education charity with a global network of over 380 local Societies, which bring people together through a shared curiosity for the arts.
Our objective, through inspiring lectures, visits, study days and heritage projects, is to broaden our knowledge and enjoyment of the arts, with like-minded, friendly people.
We meet on a Thursday once a month (except July, August and December), at Stourbridge Town Hall. Our meetings begin at 10.50 am and prospective members are welcome as guests,
Our speakers are chosen for their specialist knowledge, presentational skills and entertainment value. They speak on a wide variety of topics: architecture, painting, music, glass, film, furniture, jewellery – and much, much more, from classical and ancient to modern and contemporary.
Membership gives access to our Special Interest Days, where a topic is explored in more detail, and to our programme of visits to galleries, museums, exhibitions, the theatre, country houses, gardens . . . and, each year, an arts-related tour abroad.
